  1. Hello Christel,

Yvonne here 🙂 It’s starting to take hold here in NY!! I have posted this on our Stop CCS In New York FB group!!

  2. How do I find out more to help me understand common core?

    Thank you

    Mark

    • Read “Children of the Core”…you can find it on Amazon.com

    • Mark, here are a few good starting points to learn about Common Core.

Watch the video series by Concerned Women of Georgia at StopCommonCore.com. Watch the video by Professor Christopher Tienken on Vimeo called The School Reform Landscape.

Some of my favorite blogs on the subject are the Truth in American Education website, Missouri Education Watchdog, Oklahoma’s R.O.P.E., Hoosiers Against Common Core, Commoncorefacts.blogspot.com, UtahnsAgainstCommonCore, Michelle Malkin’s blog; also, see the many online writings of Jane Robbins, Emmett McGroarty, Lindsey Burke, Thomas Newkirk, Professor Sandra Stotsky, Ze’ev Wurman, Barry Garelick, Bill Evers, Jamie Gass, Jim Stergios, William Mathis, Susan Ohanian, just to name a few off the top of my head.

Read the white papers at Pioneer Institute that show why members of the official CC validation committee refused to sign off on the standards’ academic legitimacy. Many other organizations have spoken up, including American Principles Project, Truth in American Education, Heritage Foundation, Sutherland Institute, etc.

  3. Mark here again, common core has arrived here in roscommon mi. Teachers are reluctant to question for fear of dismissal.

    • The question is, are the teachers’ fears justified? Has any principal ever actually threatened a teacher that he/she will be fired if he/she questions Common Core, or who exercises the professional obligation to “first do no harm” — by teaching properly rather than catering to this garbage at students’ expense? Really?

  4. Common Core was mentioned on Rush Limbaugh today which I think will draw some positive attention to making people ask questions.
