Thu, 10 Apr 2014 00:29:02 +0000http://whatiscommoncore.wordpress.com/?p=6031#comment-16681We are welcoming Dr. Peg Lucsik to Delaware on April 21 and April 22 to offer some alternatives to the Department of Education statewide presentations on Common Core. We hope to expose lots of parents and teachers to the information she has.

This is the third year I have used the Common Core Standards and I find them to be quite rigorous. My present 8th grade was presented Algebra Topics in 6th grade that I did not encounter until I was in 9th grade. I think the standards give our students more exposure to real life experiences. I have been teaching for 18 years and the Common Core has invigorated my teachins. My students have been quite successful and are able to take more demanding Math Courses in High School.
