Which States Aim to Reclaim Educational Liberty?   57 comments

Many people –including bipartisan U.S. groups  and freedom fighters   in other nations— are working to save educational liberty.  We are waking up to shake off the chains that have settled over education.

Please leave a comment if you know of updates to this chart.

  6. Education Liberty Watch (www.edlibertywatch.org) helped introduce the 1st or one of the first state bills against Common Core/Race to the Top in 2010, was instrumental in stopping Minnesota from taking on the math standards and staying out of both testing consortia, supported and helped pass a bill in 2011 and again in 2012 through both chambers of the legislature before a veto by a liberal Democrat governor requiring legislative approval of any new standards including Common Core, and has been trumpeting the dangers of early childhood Race to the Top and its relationship to Common Core since 2011. We also have been warning of the dangers to private schools of school choice plans that require state tests because they would impose Common Core on private schools.

  7. Please add these groups to New Hampshire:

    Thank you!

  8. I feel like a fish flopping around in a big ocean here in Florida. Haven’t found anyone who feels the same as I do and our local school board is not being swayed to stop any kind of implementation. I see florida going bankrupt trying to adhere to all the requirements of Common Core. One legislator asst called me nothing but a ranting mom. If there is anyone if Florida who is in the same boat I am let me know.

  11. I’m watching the G. Beck show right now. I’m in (The People’s Republic of) Maryland(istan). I got my degree in Music Education, but currently work in contracts for the Army. Is there anyone else in my state that knows about this? I knew things were getting sketchy in the Education sphere, but this is blowing my mind. . . (I’m going to need more wine. . . or vodka . . . this is really disturbing. . .)

  12. Please add Maryland to the growing list of States waking up to fight Common Core.

  31. Louisiana has enjoined the Fight! I have started a web-site named KillCommonCore.com, and in my home Parish, the St Tammany School Board has unanimously adopted a resolution to petition the Governor to withdraw from CCSS. Tomorrow (Oct 10) they will ratify the resolution and send it to Governor Jindal and State Superintendent of Education John White.

My web-site is my very first attempt at ANY web-site! I am such an amateur, but I am so passionate that I must do this!

Please add my site to your list of sites fighting Common Core!
