Lee County School Board Opts All Children Out of High Stakes Tests   3 comments

Today, the Washington Post reported that in Lee County, Florida, the school board voted to opt the entire school district out of high stakes testing.  The superintendent didn’t love it, but she has to abide by the vote of the board.  Watch the cheering, standing ovation on this video after the board voted for the opt out.

  1. A year ago, a Board member in Utah told me during lunch that high stakes testing will never be done away with in Utah.

    I just smiled….

  2. Looks like they just voted to opt back in. I’m sure there’s more to this story.

  3. Yes, they met again Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. after the Labor Day weekend and one vote was rescinded because they feared $$$$s would be pulled as warned by the local media. Fear and coercion while parents are getting their children off to school.
